Society6 is a print-on-demand marketplace where each purchase pays an artist. And thousands of artists sell their artwork on a wide range of products there, including phone cases. Society6 sells both Android cases and iPhone cases. I’ll focus the review on the iPhone tough cases because they are the ones I have purchased. and FYI: these cases are now available for iPhone 15!!

Slim & Tough Cases

The slim cases have an extremely slim profile and are made from a single flexible plastic hard case. They are open around the phone’s buttons, so you have direct access to device features. Yet, they are meant to be impact-resistant, and can easily snap on and off. In my opinion, they may be pretty fragile compared to the tough cases, and they wouldn’t suit my needs.

Tough cases, on the other hand, are made of two pieces: a flexible plastic case with a silicone liner inside. They have extra impact protection with shock dispersion. I promise you this REALLY works. I dropped my phone so many times, and my phone still works and doesn’t have a scratch, it still looks completely new when I take off my case. The case absorbs it all.

Two-step process

The 2023 tough case is different and improved compared to the version I bought back in 2021. Now the silicon liner surrounds the back of the phone too. Back in the 2021 version, it was only going around the edges of the phone.

You first put on the black silicone liner, and then snap the plastic case on it.

The ring/silent bottom on the left is open, so you have direct access to the phone slider there, but the volume buttons and the on/off button on the right are all fully protected by the silicone liner.

As I previously mentioned, I drop my phone a lot, and this is what is left of the 2021 version of the tough case, after countless drops in 18 months. You can see in the photos below that the silicon liner still protects the phone when the plastic exterior cracks or breaks.
