Altra Women’s Lone Peak 9+ Trail Running & Hiking Shoe

The Altra Lone Peak is the gold standard for thru-hikers. The new Altra Lone Peak 9+ brings a massive upgrade: Vibram® Megagrip. This sticky rubber offers a fierce grip on wet and dry ground, giving you total confidence on slippery, technical trails.

Built for High Mileage

These shoes are made to last. The upper uses 100% RPET ripstop mesh with no-sew overlays. This keeps the shoe light, just 9.3 oz, while protecting you from trail debris.

  • StoneGuard™: A flexible shield that protects your feet from sharp rocks.
  • GaiterTrap™: Allows for easy, strapless gaiter attachment to keep dirt and sand out.

The Signature Altra Feel

Stay connected to the trail with a 25mm stack height and Altra EGO™ foam. The Lone Peak 9+ uses the Original FootShape™ Fit. This is Altra’s roomiest design, letting your toes spread out naturally for all-day comfort. It even has the APMA Seal of Acceptance for better foot health.

Altra Lone Peak 8 vs. 9+: Is it Worth the Upgrade?

The biggest change in the Altra Lone Peak 8 vs. 9+ is the outsole. The 8 used MaxTrac™ rubber, but the 9+ moves to Vibram® Megagrip. This offers much better stickiness on wet rocks and lasts longer. The 9+ also has a tougher ripstop mesh upper and a more refined midsole feel. If you hike in wet or rocky areas, the upgrade is definitely worth it.
