Black Diamond Moji Lantern

The Moji lantern is a very light lantern at 2.6 ounces. This pocket-sized puck throws a broad dome of illumination that fills a shelter without creating harsh shadows or blinding glare.

Equipped with a simple two-button interface, you can effortlessly dim or brighten the output up to 200 lumens. The frosted globe softens the beam, giving you functional, usable light for reading or sorting gear. It also includes full-spectrum color cycling, solid strobe modes, and a gentle campfire mode to match whatever mood your night requires.

Designed to handle unpredictable wilderness weather, this lantern features an IPX4 stormproof rating that shrugs off heavy downpours, sleet, or splashing water. For quick rigging, the base includes a collapsible double-hook hanging loop that snaps easily into tent ceiling tabs, along with four integrated magnets for instant attachment to metallic surfaces.

This updated model features an intelligent Dual Fuel design. It runs cleanly on three standard AAA alkaline batteries right out of the box, but it is also fully compatible with Black Diamond’s rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack. Whether you stick with traditional cells or upgrade to rechargeables, the efficient circuitry ensures maximum runtime on a single charge.

Moji Lantern Review

I use this Moji lantern inside my car camping tent all the time, and it lights up the entire space surprisingly well without being harsh on the eyes. After 6 years of use, it’s proven to be incredibly reliable. In all that time, I’ve only had to replace the batteries once.

I also use it to illuminate my tent when taking night sky photos, including the Milky Way shot shown above, and I love the warm glow it creates in the final images. There’s a rechargeable version available now, which is a great option, but honestly, you can’t go wrong with either version of this little lantern.
