The Sea to Summit Flame Fm0 delivers highly efficient, minimalist warmth for warm-weather backcountry trips. Designed specifically to fit a woman’s ergonomics, it cuts out excess dead air spaces to trap heat efficiently while minimizing total weight. This bag is engineered for situations where pack volume and weight are just as critical as temperature regulation.

Weight efficiency is the core feature of this insulation piece. Coming in at just 7.9 ounces for the regular length, it frees up significant weight and volume in a backpacking pack. The ultra-minimalist design utilizes a light 7D nylon shell fabric and a 3/4-length zipper to shed every unnecessary gram without sacrificing core performance.

The bag is insulated with premium 850+ fill power goose down, treated with a PFC-free Ultra-Dry water-repellent finish. This treatment prevents the down from clumping or losing its loft when exposed to overnight condensation or tent dampness, ensuring consistent loft and temperature regulation throughout the night.

While rated for 55°F summer nights on its own, the mummy shape allows it to easily double as a sleeping bag liner during late-season or winter trips. Slipping this bag inside a primary 3-season or winter sleeping bag adds a significant layer of insulation, extending a standard setup into sub-freezing territory without the need to purchase an entirely separate deep-winter bag.

The included Ultra-Sil compression sack allows the entire bag to compress down to a 0.7-liter volume. This ultra-compact packed size means it occupies less space in a pack than a standard water bottle, making it easy to fit into low-volume fastpacking setups or minimalist weekend kits.

This is my go-to summer sleeping bag, but it also pulls double duty as a winter liner inside my cold-weather bags. Layering it allows me to push my sleep system into sub-freezing temperatures while staying completely toasty and oblivious to the freezing air outside. I absolutely love this bag.

In the summer, it lets me drop down to a tiny pack and carry a mere 8 ounces for a dedicated sleep setup.
When winter rolls around, adding that exact same weight to my pack is worth every gram for the massive boost in overnight comfort.

The shell fabric is incredibly soft, the zipper glides smoothly without catching, it packs down super small, and I am so glad I picked this up. It seems to have been discontinued, but a handful of stores still have a few left in stock if you can find them.
