HoverAir X1 Pro Flying Camera
Hands-On First Impressions
I recently purchased the HoverAir X1 Pro for my hiking and backpacking trips, and so far, I am genuinely impressed. It folds down small enough to slip into a pack pocket without thinking twice, making it ideal for quick, spontaneous flight clips when pulling out a traditional drone feels like too much work.
You can check out this YouTube Shorts to see the HoverAir X1 Pro 4K video quality and AI follow mode in action on the trail.
The image quality stands out right away with crisp, clear 4K video footage that handles fast action smoothly. Operating it is completely seamless: you just launch it right off your hand in under three seconds.
Right now, I am strictly using it on dry land. Since I do not have the Aqua version, I plan on taking it out on my paddleboard once I am more accustomed to how it operates and 100% trust that I can land it reliably in my hand, even while out on the paddleboard in the bay or ocean!
A couple of practical notes from my time out: always check local regulations and conditions to make sure you can actually fly where you intend before heading out, and keep in mind that the battery life is relatively short. You will definitely want to buy a spare battery or keep a high-output power bank in your bag to top off the charge between uses when you are not flying it.
Full HoverAir X1 Pro review coming very soon! I am taking the HoverAir X1 Pro back out to the Sierra Nevada mountain range this weekend to put it through more high-altitude usage before publishing my complete deep dive.

Recommended Accessories for the Trail
Because run times are limited on compact flying cameras, grabbing a dedicated spare battery or a fast-charging portable power supply is highly recommended to get the most out of your field shoots.
